Babies and stuff...
When Fran and I set about this wedding blogging lark, one thing we both wanted to achieve was simply a wedding obsessed blog that had a bit of personality but that wasnt too personal.
There are plenty of wedding blogs out there who in fact are true blogs and so talk a lot about their own lives outside of the world of weddings which is great {if you are nosey like me!} but not so great if you are looking for information on weddings and weddings only. We are also {still!} hoping to move our ridiculously obsessive interest in weddings forward as a business that we could devote our time to and so wanted to keep the blog side of it simple and straightforward, a tool for inspiration and ideas.
Now maybe we went down this route because we don't think our own lives are actually that interesting to others {although you'd be wrong.. today for instance I made some sausage rolls and managed two loads of washing} but sometimes a bit of world outside discussing wedding stuff creeps in. Which leads me neatly on to my next post... my maternity shoot.
Now to be fair this has got some W-day subtext, it's a little note to explain my absense for a wee while whilst I bond/ recover/ sleep/ cry with a new born and hand over fully to Fran but also the shoot is a bit weddingy. For me anyway!
Firstly and most importantly, the shots are of me taken a few weeks ago by my favourite ever wedding photographer Jeff Ascough. Now when Jeff suggested doing something of a maternity shoot back when I was just showing I jumped at the chance, its not something I'd normally be that comfortble with but this isn't any old bump shoot. This is a Jeff Ascough bump shoot. And that makes me a lucky cow.
Secondly, we got the chance to shoot the pictures at one of my favourite haunts The Great John Street Hotel in Manchester where I had my own wedding. It really is a beautiful place and so thanks to Tiffany and all the staff for allowing us to descend on one of their amazing suites for the day.
Thirdly make up artist Michelle Cannon did my hair and make up which was a necessity as I am completely useless at both hair and make up and she is ace, be sure to check her out if you are looking for a bridal make up artist in the north-west.
Finally I chose to give the shots a bit of a story and so wore the shirt my husband wore on our wedding day. It felt right and I am glad that it worked.
So here are the results and to say I am glad I did them would be an underestimation. There won't be any more babies in the Crewe household after this one so I am really pleased that I have a lasting memory of this pregnancy and will be able to show them to my little one, remembering a happy time when I could eat cheescake without any guilt whatsoever. Good times.
