NY Bridal Fashion Market Fall 2012

So it's that time of year again when the major wedding dress designers treat us to first viewings of their new collections and we get to see what trends to expect from bridal gowns in 2012, autumn to be exact {or Fall for our American friends :)}.

I love seeing these new collections, and yes the majority of us mere mortals will never be likely to afford a Wang or a Lhuillier but a) we can dream and b) more importantly we can be inspired.

And there is so much to be inspired by, from what we have seen so far, Fall 2012 dresses are full of drama and theatre with a little bit of gothic thrown in for good measure {black dresses and corsetry anyone? Oh yes!}.

There seems naturally to be a Kate Middleton influence with lace detailing and sleeves and also a playfulness with hemlines which gives the dresses a youthful feel, a bride who is modern, open to trends and most of all carefree.

Firstly, here is the new collection from the ever popular Claire Pettibone, ethereal and bohemian as you'd expect from CP but with some interesting hemlines including a couple of tricky 'mullet' dresses {short at the front and long at the back!}....

Really very pretty and a lot of lovely details such as the flower appliques and long layered embroidered bell sleeves, a lot for 2012 brides to consider!

Next up we shall be bringing the best of Monique Lhuillier and an interesting blush and black themed collection from Vera Wang {completely dreamy...}.. don't forget to check back :)
