I have been thinking today about the year gone by, what with it being New Years Eve and all and I can honestly say this has been the best year of my life. This is mainly down to the fact that I married the love of my life, a man who I had been together with for over 15 years and who completes my life.

Type in “Christmas Wedding” in to google images and you can bet your bottom dollar that you will be faced with a whole lot of red and green and pretty much nothing in between. However, with Christmas becoming a more popular time of the year to wed brides are looking for chic and of course unique ways to dec’ their halls without all the tinsel and holly.

So, here it is the Crewe big day.
As the cliché goes, it really was the best day of my life, and I have had some pretty good days in my, ahem, 31 years. What can be better than being surrounded by your loved ones, each and every person there to celebrate your marriage (well, that and enjoy the free champagne and food).

Don’t you just love it when you find something super gorgeous when you are not actually looking for it? Well this is was one of those occasions and I am so pleased to show all you brides-to-be these amazing, luxurious and totally not tacky garters by British designer Florrie Mitton. My only displeasure is that I had not stumbled across these beauties before my own big day as I most certainly would have donned one on my thigh.

I love a mismatched bridal party, particularly the bridesmaids as it looks effortless and fresh and probably a lot due to the SATC wedding it is becoming increasingly popular over here and state side.

Thanks to my partner in crime, one Crewe has reminded me of another Crew! J Crew to be exact! Here are some chic gowns from across the pond now available in the UK. Brought to you from a brand the First Lady is a fan of, and if it's good enough for her...

After three.....Awwww!
The little ‘uns, always the fear that they will upstage you on the big day with their cuteness but you can’t help but dress them in super adorable mini me outfits.

Ok,you're going to have to forgive me but I've gone a bit bunting mad this week. Once I started checking out the DIY options I thought it was only fair to see what was available out there on the market. These babies have the added benefit of being delivered straight to your door, all you have to do is decide where to hang them, minimum effort required...

So, you’ve picked your best friends/ cousins/ sisters for the important job of bridesmaid, chosen a suitably gorgeous gown for them and now it just leaves the gift.

Here's little DIY treat to kick off the week that's a simple beautiful way to pretty up your big day, and can easily be adapted for any wedding by choosing fabrics that compliment your own wedding colour palette. Not to mention that if you happen to be getting married this festive season you can easily make an all white wintry garland, or go very Santa's grotto and use red and white if you really want to do the Christmas theme in a big way...

Jonny and Emma were actually married last year but there are some weddings that just stand the test of the time and this classic British wedding does just that. From the amazing Ian Stuart dress to the beautiful flower arrangements, this wedding really does epitomise the fairytale dream, complete with the dramatic castle and sweeping grounds. Even the rain didn’t dampen the spirits and in true British style the party carried on in to the early hours.

As soon as I bought my own home with the now hubby (then just boyfriend, nothing legally binding!) something strange started to happen to us both. All of a sudden Christmas and birthday lists were littered with items like; 'spatula', 'pestle and mortar', 'pan with heavy bottom'(necessary for cooking anything for a long time, as we discovered one pan with not so heavy bottom later). Home made was the new ready made and when it comes to favours that don't break the bank, contain a whole lot of thoughtfulness and are full of sugary goodness then a little home made treat is the way to go...

Ahhhh the dilemma of what to give as a trinket or tasty treat on the big day. The age old staple of sugared almonds is fast being overshadowed by more quirky and original options that reflect the personalities of the bride and groom. Let's not forget too, that a hundred 'little somethings' quickly adds up to make a dent in your budget, so how to make a big impact with a little pricetag.....
