David Fielden Spring 2011
31/01/2011 09:40:06    by Vicky | with 38 comments
I have hearted David Fielden dresses ever since he gave me my first ever dress wobble back in the early days of wedding planning. I’d just paid the deposit on my dress and was quite happy but being a bit of a dress fiend I couldn’t help but look at other gowns in the wedding mags. This dress in particular stopped me in my tracks as it was just so perfect, it had a silk cowl neck and then tulle from the nipped in waist, goddam it I think it even had pockets! It was in a soft light gold colour and it I just thought it was stunning.

A True London Wedding
26/01/2011 11:27:05    by Vicky | with 4 comments
Being a city bride myself there is nothing I love more than an urban wedding, more often than not the venues are quirky and the bride and groom are able to imprint their own personal styles as it is easier to break away from the "norm". So when Julie Kim sent me details of Gwen and Jim's uber-cool London wedding I couldnt have been more excited, it was, as they say, right up my street.

Sooo, what have we been blogging about this week?
22/01/2011 13:11:55    by Vicky | with 6 comments
We've had a very interesting week this week on the blog, lots going on behind the scenes, a few website tweaks and some beautiful real weddings for us to peruse and blog about. All this along with or usual wedding witterings has resulted in a pretty good bride&chic week so I thought I'd do a run down of what we have been blogging about this week...

Shabby Chic Weddings

I was introduced to my next blog subject last year by a friend of mine who has a decidedly shabby chic style house which looks like it had been filled with a multitude of marche aux puces finds from her latest trip to Paris....

The Cutest Cake Toppers
17/01/2011 09:39:56    by Vicky | with 0 comments
When I first started planning our wedding I was very keen, possibly too much so, to be an anti-wedding tradition bride. I was adamant that I wouldn't’t have a bouquet (I did get one in the end), I was convinced I would wear a very sleek, non bridal designer gown (erm that didn't happen either, tulle and sparkles anyone?) and I did want any of the fuss that brides seemed to get so hung up on (wedding card post boxes, matching table sashes, favours, floral centrepieces, tiaras, readings, even wedding cakes… some I managed to dodge, others I didn’t.)

Best of the Blogs...
13/01/2011 09:46:27    by Vicky | with 0 comments
Ok so I suppose I have to hold my hands up and say that before I became a bride-to-be I didn't really "get" blogs, I mean who wanted to read the random ramblings of someone they don't know and why did the bloggers think that anyone would be remotely interested in their lives, talk about self absorbed....

Ballet Style Brides
11/01/2011 09:46:38    by Vicky | with 38 comments
There is something about a ballerina that is awe inspiring, the classical beauty and elegance of the dance of course but also the dress which is so intrinsically linked with the image of a classical bride, pure, white, innocent and youthful.

Knots & Kisses
10/01/2011 10:44:52    by Vicky | with 0 comments
Here at bride&chic we love homespun, we love quirky, we love that diy look, we love paper (ridiculously so) and we love finding products for brides that have clearly had so much love and attention to detail paid to them that they are deserving of a blog post of their own.

So there were so many beautiful dresses in Charlotte's range this year that we had to do a two parter, luckily for us the range has been neatly separated into two collections, The English Tea Party shown yesterday and Sabella below.

Charlotte Balbier 2011
04/01/2011 09:43:03    by Vicky | with 39 comments
Now it's no secret that I do love a Balbier bride here on bride&chic and one of my favourite dresses ever, Tabitha, was featured on one of our real weddings recently, 'tis truly stunning. Its hard to believe that Charlotte Balbier is only in her 8th year in the bridal industry, her ranges are full and accomplished and she already has a recognisable style.
