15/02/2012 10:16:28    by Vicky | with 0 comments
It's about this time of year when a bride's thoughts turn to the bridesmaids dresses and with the new Spring 2012 drops hitting the high street there isn't a better time to go on that all important shopping trip with your girls. By getting in there first you will have the pick of the Springs new colours and more importantly you shouldn't have any issues with missing sizes!

It's been a while since we delved in to what the high street has to offer your gorgeous bridesmaids so I thought I'd have a look around to see what's out there and I wasn't disappointed.

Back in April when we all sat round our TV sets to admire the pomp and ceremony of the Royal Wedding {or check out THE dress, Victoria Beckhams bump and Tara P-T's nose} I remember being particularly drawn to the little flower girl's dresses...

Now if there is one thing that brings out the bridezilla in all of us its the age old question of how to dress your bridesmaids in a way that suits not only your wedding but no doubt a multitude of different body shapes and sizes.

In celebration of the release of the Bridesmaids movie this week I thought I'd take a look at what's out there for maids on the high street at the moment and remembered I'd been meaning to check out the Irish retailer A-wear

French Connection SS2011

Ok, I won't hide the fact, I really like French Connection. I seem to get at least one of their dresses from each collection and I adore their accessories and jewellery. I love them so much that my bridesmaids donned the ever popular Penny dress in ivory for my big day, super stylish bridesmaids there ever were if I do say so myself. Their shapes seem to flatter and fit in the right places and tick all the boxes when it comes to the seasons trends.

Mismatched Maids

I love a mismatched bridal party, particularly the bridesmaids as it looks effortless and fresh and probably a lot due to the SATC wedding it is becoming increasingly popular over here and state side.

After three.....Awwww!

The little ‘uns, always the fear that they will upstage you on the big day with their cuteness but you can’t help but dress them in super adorable mini me outfits.

A Modern Classic

Hooray, our first real wedding and it’s an extra special one for me as it features one of my all-time favourite dresses Charlotte Balbier’s Tabitha (or more commonly known as my “if-I-was-getting-married-in-a-marquee-or-country-house-dress”). Apologies in advance for the gratuitous dress shots!

High Street Heroes
15/11/2010 11:48:12    by Vicky | with 0 comments

The old bridesmaid dress debate, high street vs bridal is always a tricky one.

Go high street and save a good few pennies but risk one of your guests turning up in the same dress or go down the traditional bridesmaid dress route and risk buying something your girls will probably never wear again. Hmmm…

I can see both sides of the argument and so seeing as were good like that we’ll work on regular updates on what is new on the high street but also blog on anything B&C worthy on the bridal fashion network. The bridemaid dress industry has come on leaps and bounds even in the past couple of years offering new more fashion focussed designs that even the most fashionista of bridesmaids would be happy to rock.

So here goes, I’ve started with some nude/ blush/ naturals from the High Street simply because I am a fan of the neutral bridesmaid and so it seemed like a good place to start! Throw in a few metallic accessories and you’re on to a winner, lucky bridesmaids….
